Sarkodie: “I’m a King! but I don’t feel I gotta wear a crown.
Freda: “What dey show say you be king if you no dey wear crown”
M.anifest: “What’s a king to a God MC?”
Freda: “What’s a God to an unbeliever?”
Sark’s #Bossy reviewed by many was considered an indirect diss to the some rappers in the country. According to some critics, Sark threw shots at mostly at EL, who has been mute about the issue, till M.anifest surprisingly fired at Obidi with #Godmc. This fiasco has fueled several controversies and beef among fans from both artistes.
Realizing the Sarkodie-M.anifest Bossy/GodMC brouhaha was getting out of hand. Fast rising female hip-hop emcee, Freda Rhymez found it necessary to pour out her thoughts on this ‘war’.
In her #Bossy remake, Freda centered on key points reflecting how some aspects of the original #Bossy piece degraded and in a way drawn out the hopes of most rising talents like herself.
“The purpose for taking up #Bossy was to speak my mind on current saga happening in the music industry. As an upcoming artiste its quite difficult to have a voice of your own and considering the original #Bossy which talks so much about Kingship and everyone else being inferior and calling musicians immature, especially those killing themselves to deliver their best, how do you expect them to urge on? ”, she stated.
“The industry in itself is a small one and I feel that helping each other and making Ghana music stand out in Africa is greater goal or achievement than awards and how much money one has accumulated”, she added.
She also stated, “#Bossy remake, is just a flip of the original song, which kills hopes of a possible success for upcoming artiste and even mainstream ones disagreeing with the content of the song and saying no to monopoly and saying yes we all can make it. Nigerian music industry would always be higher than ours if we don’t support each other to make our own big!”
“I hope the messages would be well received and we can all make a better industry for us and not fight for individual success”, she concluded.
