Emerging as of one the best emcees in the season 4 edition of MTN hitmaker, CJ Biggerman has since elevated his game to stand out among his peers.
The euphoria that surrounds the release of his songs is very great but in the case of his new tune, #RapMood2.0 yielded myriads of questions.
The tune was solid and the instrumentals sets a good mood for a good rap delivery.
#RapMood2.0 is a sequel of Biggerman’s #RapMood1 prior the RapMood Series, a project he’s taken to release each quarter of the year.
Typical of most songs, released by the ‘Fat Boy’, projecting him being the best in Ghana and all, the lyrical content in #RapMood2.0 this time was somewhat very controversial.
Biggerman in his flow in #RapMood2.0 centered about Mr. Eazi having a horrible voice but he makes the best of every instrumental he gets his hands on.
” …cos you know abi dope with the flow, never dey imitate -Medikal connect…”
This line got me wondering, is he implying the AMG rap artiste lacks originality and imitates other emcees? Or perhaps he was just making a reference to Medikal’s connect to go with the flow?
He also hammered on the fact that Tee Phlow is still not that a ‘big’ emcee despite his allegiance with GH premiere producer, Hammer.
Then, he delivered few not very ‘smart’ lines and conclude with “…so you rappers dey spit..they don’t care…its not their fault…na Atom winni award n33?.. It can pain papa”
This line clears states, despite the minimal effort put in by some artistes like Atom, they rather appreciated and honored than the hardworking and proficient ones. And GH music no longer about good music, its just about ‘hype’.
Yes, Rap music since its origination has been basically about rappers exaggerating about things, picking on and ridiculing their fellow rappers and talking about stuff they can do and even stuff they can’t do.
Is #RapMood2.0 a typical piece of such hiphop notion? Or Is he preaching about the truth concerning GH music in our present times? Is it true Mr. Eazi lacks that vocal efficiency ? That Guru being too commercial when initially Ghanaians knew him to be a vibrant rapper?
So here lies the question, is #RapMood2.0 a diss song or not?
Yes or No. I believe CJ has a motive, the lines ,
“…ano dey see any rap king, the only King I know is King Ayisoba..”
“..coming against the godMc “
which I will not tackle much, are messages sent to us that he’s charged up and more should be expected because he just got started.
